The Catholic Weekly 9 August 2020

16 The Catholic Weekly, 9 August, 2020 UNIVERSITY OPEN DAYS 2020 For anyone considering applying for university, attending a campus Open Day is a must. Open Day pro- vides the best chance to get a real sense of what your future university life will be like. In keeping with current govern- ment public health restrictions, ACU 2020 Open Day will be held as three national events in virtual for- mat, which will be supplemented by smaller on campus events and tours later in the year (subject to the eas- ing of restrictions). Future students will be able to access the same information they would get at a physical Open Day – though this year it will be a virtual experience. ACU will offer a com- bination of pre-recorded informa- tional videos on our disciplines and study areas, live webinar-style ses- sions with accompanying chat, and additional chatroom features for people to ask questions and access support. Online visitors will be able to tour our campuses and facilities virtual- ly, and ACU will showcase our, stu- dent support services, international opportunities, and other services, with a particular emphasis on the benefits of studying at a Catholic university. Non-school leavers and post- graduate students will also be able to access information to help them in their decision-making journey towards university study. It is the perfect opportunity to gain person- alised advice and get all your ques- tions answered. Future students can also find out more about our range of path- way and entry programs. If you’re worried about achieving the entry requirements you need, these pro- grams will help you gain entry into a range of ACU undergraduate de- grees. Students can also learn more about our unique Foundation Stud- ies program, which will be offered at the ACU Blacktown Campus from 2021. This fee-free program is cov- ered by ACU and provides guaran- teed entry into undergraduate de- grees at any of our campuses, as long as you achieve the required GPA. Year 12 students will have the chance to find out more about the ACU Guarantee program, which will allow them to gain entry to ACU based on their Year 11 results. ACU Strathfield Campus Dean, Associate Professor Miriam Tanti said that the university understood that this year had been a challenging time for many students. “Opening in August for 2021 ap- plications, the ACU Guarantee pro- gram will see offers made as early as September – although you must still complete your Year 12 exams to qualify. If you’re concerned about your Year 11 results, you can apply for additional adjustment factors by submitting up to three statements outlining personal circumstances and your motivation for university study.” A world of opportunity awaits at ACU Open Day OPEN DAY ACU Open Days will be held on Saturday 29 August, and 5, 12 September, 9am-3pm.
