The Director assists the Archbishop in his role as promoter, moderator and guardian of the worship life of the Archdiocese and advises him on liturgical matters. Responsibilities The Director will be responsible for but not limited to, the following: • Promotion of high liturgical standards and active participation in the Sacred Liturgy in the Archdiocese, especially in the celebration of the Eucharist and other Sacraments • Liaison with and contribution to the work of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission • Fostering worship and prayer beyond the celebration of the Sacraments including the Liturgy of the Hours, the promotion of fasting and devotions and the fostering of other celebrations of prayer • Formation and support for clergy and laity in the theology and practice of the Sacred Liturgy including the conduct of formation courses • Advising the Archbishop on the state of and means for promoting the Sacred Liturgy in the Archdiocese • Assisting in planning of major Liturgies within the Archdiocese • Making recommendations in support of the archdiocesan parish renewal and evangelisation plans, including a vision for the pastoral-liturgical life of the Archdiocese. • Assisting the Archbishop and Chancery in other liturgical matters • Leading the Liturgy Office and managing staff. • Acting act as a point of contact for co-ordination of pastoral- liturgical endeavours involving other local and national bodies and liturgical organisations • Budgetary and other leadership responsibilities of an agency head.
